Prince Fan Trisha Yearwood Bathes in the "Purple Rain"

Randee St. NicholasTrisha Yearwood covered everyone from Whitney Houston to Jewel to Lifehouse on her most recent recordings for The Passion soundtrack, and last weekend in Ohio, she was at it again. This time, however, it was to remember the icon Prince, who passed away last week at the age of 57.

The two-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year called her three background vocalists to the stage, as it was tinted the late singer’s signature color, before delivering a reverent version of his hit “Purple Rain.” The tribute turned into a huge singalong, as Trisha waved her arms and swayed with the crowd as Prince’s symbol was projected over the stage.

“Nothing compares 2 Prince, but this is my humble tribute!” she posted on Facebook on Monday, along with a fan’s video of the moment. “Thanks Jason Bryan for capturing this very special moment for me #ILovePrince #PurpleRain xo.”

Trisha continues on the Garth Brooks World Tour this weekend, as she and her husband swing through Des Moines, Iowa. Her single, “Broken,” is currently a top 20 hit on the Adult Contemporary chart.
