ABC/Eric GebhartThe Band Perry’s song, “Live Forever” is getting a new life. Originally released as a single last summer, it will now be Team USA’s official song for the 2016 Summer Olympics. The sibling trio performed the tune Wednesday morning on NBC’s Today show, and there’s also a new Olympic-themed version of the “Live Forever” music video.
The 2016 Summer Olympics kick off August 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and run through the 21st. The Band Perry is set to sing their song as part of NBC’s coverage of the festivities.
“Live Forever” was originally launched as the lead single from The Band Perry’s third album, which was to be titled Heart + Beat. Since parting ways with their longtime label last month, the trio hasn’t revealed exactly what the status of the album is.
