ABC/Image Group LADig Your Roots is both the title of Florida Georgia Line’s forthcoming album, as well as their new tour that launches this Thursday in Tupelo, Mississippi. But more than that, Brian Kelley says it’s really a philosophy the duo even considered when picking their tourmates.
“Cole Swindell, we’ve known him for a long time — wrote “This Is How We Roll” and “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” with him. Been around him since we both didn’t even have really publishing deals,” Brian reminisces. “So it’s cool to be on like a major tour with him, man. He’s a brother!”
When you have such a rich history, Brian expects it’s likely to result in even more hits.
“Cadillac Three, same thing. We did a mini smoky bars and guitars-type tour in 2010 or so, again before nobody knew who we were,” he recalls. “So we were cutting our teeth together, and it’s awesome to be at another level with everybody. And I think it will create a different kind of brotherhood. We’ll be writing a ton of songs.”
Brian and musical partner Tyler Hubbard also like to consider who’ll bring the right vibe to the tour, and they believe newcomer Kane Brown fits the bill.
Expect to hear the duo’s new single “H.O.L.Y.,” which recently vaulted to number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Look for the Dig Your Roots album in stores and online in August.
