PCH FilmsThere’s a new movie in the works based on the life of Glen Campbell. The upcoming film will be directed by James Keach, the force behind the documentary I’ll Be Me, which chronicles the Country Music Hall of Famer’s struggle with Alzheimer’s. Keach also produced the Academy Award-winning motion picture based on the life of Johnny Cash, Walk the Line.
The news comes as manager TK Kimbrell, perhaps best known for his work with Toby Keith, announced he’ll be shepherding Campbell’s legacy from now on. “He seems really happy,” Kimbrell says of the “Rhinestone Cowboy’s” declining condition. “It’s hard for him to put words together. Physically, he looks healthy– like the Glen Campbell we all know. He smiles a lot, and loves seeing his wife Kim and the family. They are always there caring for him.”
Kimbrell also works with Glen’s daughter Ashley, who has a recording contract with Big Machine. He teases there are many unreleased recordings by the guitar great, both as a soloist and with famed L.A. studio musicians The Wrecking Crew.
