50 Years in the Making: Highest Bidder Gets Photos and Interview with Dolly Parton's Husband

Webster Public RelationsWhile we knew Dolly Parton had renewed her vows on her 50th wedding anniversary and she planned to sell the photos for charity — it turns out she has even more up her rhinestone-studded sleeve. Not only will there be official pictures of her famously reclusive husband Carl Dean, Dolly’s also gotten him to agree to an interview. Both will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

“If I had it to do all over, I’d do it all over again, and we did,” the entertainment icon says of the May 30 ceremonies. “I’m dragging him kicking and screaming into the next 50 years… In all honesty, the only way I was able to get Carl to do any of this in the first place was that it was a great opportunity for us to raise money for some very worthy causes.”

The superstar from East Tennessee has previously said she plans to give at least part of the money to her Imagination Library, which sends books to children all over the world. We should learn more once the auction-winner is revealed.

“My first thought was I’m gonna marry that girl,” Dolly’s hubby says in what is likely his first-ever public statement. “My second thought was, Lord she’s good lookin’. And that was the day my life began. I wouldn’t trade the last 50 years for nothing on this earth.”
