Cam's Collaborative Spirit: Two Days, Two Different Mash-Ups

Arista NashvilleIt’s been a big week for collaborations for Cam. First, she and girl group Fifth Harmony combined their talents to sing “Mayday” and “Work from Home” on Wednesday’s CMT Music Awards. Then Thursday night on the main stage at CMA Music Festival, she and Lady Antebellum showed up to surprise the sell-out crowd at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.

“I’m performing ‘Burning House’ and they’re gonna sing with me on it,” she revealed. “And then, we’re gonna go into ‘Need You Now’ and I’m gonna sing on that with them. So, you know– a bunch of lame songs!” she joked.

Cam says her love for teaming up with other vocalists goes all the way back to her teens.

“I love harmonizing. That’s like one of my favorite things. So I think if that’s involved in a collaboration, that’s what makes me the most excited about doing it. Because I was in a capella groups in high school and college. Nerd central! So if I got my pals there that want to do it with me– yeah, that’s it!”

You’ll be able to check out Cam’s mash-up with Lady Antebellum Wednesday, August 3, when CMA Music Festival:  Country’s Night to Rock airs at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
