Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott Reveals Heartbreak Behind New Single

Capitol Records NashvilleDuring a band hiatus, Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott recorded a faith-based album, Love Remains, with members of her immediate family and shipped the project’s moving first single, “Thy Will,” off to country radio. While she’s been cryptic until now about the song’s inspiration, she told ABC’s Good Morning America Monday that she penned the song following a heartbreaking miscarriage.

In the tearful interview, Scott revealed that she suffered the sudden miscarriage during a pregnancy last fall, and said of the experience, “I … feel like there’s this pressure that you’re just supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened.” Instead, Scott used the album — and the time in the studio with her family — as an opportunity to heal.

Scott and her husband, Lady A drummer Chris Tyrrell, are the parents of 2-year-old daughter Eisele.

The 13-song Love Remains, produced by Ricky Skaggs, hits retail July 29.
