Black River EntertainmentThe body of Craig Morgan’s 19-year-old son, Jerry Greer, was recovered around 9 p.m. CT on Monday. Though searchers were prepared to keep going through the night, the remains of the recent high school graduate were found a little more than 24 hours after he disappeared during a tubing accident on Tennessee’s Kentucky Lake. One eyewitness reported he was still wearing his life jacket when he was found.
Greer and a friend were being pulled behind a ski boat on Sunday when they hit a wake. Jerry’s friend resurfaced, but he never did. Early Monday before his body was found, Craig released a statement through his publicist thanking everyone for their support and asking for privacy during this difficult time.
Though he’s known professionally as Craig Morgan, the Tennessee native’s full name is Craig Morgan Greer. The former member of the armed forces is best known for his chart-topping hit “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” as well as “Redneck Yacht Club” and “Little Bit of Life.” The 2008 Grand Ole Opry inductee released his latest album, Whole Lot More to Me, on June 3.
