Cha-Ching! Fans Drop $60 Million in Nashville During CMA Music Festival

Country Music AssociationCMA Music Festival is the main event when it comes to tourism in Music City.

Country music fans spent $59.5 million dollars at last month’s four-day extravaganza, according to the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation, officially making it the largest annual happening in the city. Even so, that’s down slightly from last year’s $60.4 million total.

Nearly 85 percent of festival attendees come from out of town and stay and average of five nights in country music’s home, with ticket-holders for the nightly shows at Nissan Stadium accounting for $45.5 million of the cash.

Since 2006, CMA Music Festival has helped the Country Music Association donate $13.6 million to music education in schools. Tickets are on sale now for next year’s gathering, set for June 8-11, 2017.
