EMI NashvilleEven though Hillary Scott is busy promoting her new side project with her family, the Lady Antebellum hitmaker is already writing new music and recording with Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood.
“We are in exploratory mode! Exploratative? What’s the word? Just made it up!” she jokes. “We are having a blast. We’re writing. The fall is really what’s marked off for the bulk of the work and the fun. But we don’t know how to not work.”
While she and Charles both currently have solo singles, they’re also back on the road with Lady A, with an eye on new music from the band.
“We’re dabbling in the studio here and there, but nothing is really like cemented in stone yet,” Hillary reveals. “We’re just kind of exploring, and that’s what this whole experience was for, was to give ourselves time to really go after our own individual things and then come back and have no real rush of a deadline for new music. But we’ve got some good stuff!
In the meantime, Hillary’s faith-based album with her family, Love Remains, will be out July 29. She recently revealed the first single, “Thy Will,” was inspired by a miscarriage she suffered last year while on tour with Lady A.
