Capitol NashvilleAt Tuesday night’s 10th Annual ACM Honors show at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, not only did a who’s who of country stars tape an upcoming CBS special, some of them also pre-recorded their performance for next week’s Stand Up to Cancer telecast.
“We’re gonna get to do a version of ‘Heroes’ by [David] Bowie,” Keith Urban explained. “Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley and myself.”
The Stand Up to Cancer cause hits close to home for the Australian superstar, whose father passed away less than a year ago.
“It’s become personal for me, for sure,” he reflected. “This is how I lost my dad in December, so the cause has taken on a whole new passion for me.”
Stand Up to Cancer airs live September 9 at 8 p.m. ET on all the major networks, and on many cable channels as well.
