Dierks Bentley Helps Rocker Elle King Notch Her First #1 on the Country Chart

Capitol NashvilleDierks Bentley’s duet with Elle King, “Different for Girls,” not only ascends to the top of the country chart this week, becoming the 15th number-one of his career so far– it’s also just been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, having sold half a million copies.

“This is one of those ‘once-in-a-career’ songs,” Dierks says, “and I’m so glad we decided to take a risk and release it as a single. I wish I had documented the life of this song from when I heard the demo for the first time, to calling up Elle and flying to Austin to record with her, to seeing it grow and become a giant part of our live show. Being part of Elle’s first #1 country song is a really cool thing too. She ‘celebrates’ every day, but this gives us a real excuse to have some cocktails and toast all the people who helped give this song such an incredible life…”

“Different for Girls” is up for Musical Event of the Year at November’s 50th Annual CMA Awards as well.
