CMTThe stars are lining up for CMT’s Artists of the Year special October 20 in Nashville.
Kelsea Ballerini will join Best New Artist Grammy winner Meghan Trainor and R&B troubadour Jill Scott to pay tribute to Artist of a Lifetime honoree Shania Twain. Kelsea’s Greatest Hits co-host Arsenio Hall will also appear, likely to give the “Peter Pan” hitmaker the Breakout Award. Olympic Gold Medalists Aly Raisman and Madison Kocian have been added as presenters as well.
Honoree Thomas Rhett will do a mash-up of his smash “Die a Happy Man,” with Swedish pop sensation Zara Larsson contributing her hit,“Never Forget You.” Look for fellow Artist of the Year Luke Bryan to do his duet with Karen Fairchild, “Home Alone Tonight,” with the rest of Little Big Town joining to present.
We’ll have to wait to see what CMT has planned for the rest of the night’s chosen ones — Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, and Florida Georgia Line. The seventh annual Artists of the Year gala airs Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on CMT.
