Jerod Harris/Getty ImagesFor the last three years, the only place you’ve been able to download digital copies of Garth Brooks’ music has been on his own GhostTunes.com website. But that’s just changed.
Starting today, you can both buy and exclusively stream Garth’s music on Amazon.com. That includes his latest single, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance,” from his forthcoming new studio album, Gunslinger. However, you’ve got to be an Amazon Unlimited subscriber to do it, part of Amazon’s Music Unlimited service, announced last week.
Right now, the albums available for download are 2007’s Ultimate Hits collection and 1998’s Double Live collection. Amazon will add Christmas Together, Garth’s Christmas album with wife Trisha Yearwood, later this year, along with Gunslinger. The rest of Garth’s catalog will be released later.
“It is a joy to work with a company that is all about the customer when it comes to service, and all about the music and its creators when it comes to the music,” Garth says in a statement announcing the deal. “I applaud Amazon on their commitment to quality and thank them for this opportunity.”
Gunslinger’s due out November 25.
