John Russell/CMAOn Tuesday, Little Big Town announced that they’ll be performing regularly at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium, in a residency dubbed Little Big Town at the Mother Church. It’s the first residency of its kind, and will encompass six nights in 2017, starting February 24.
The residency continues February 25, May 29 and 20, and September 15 and 16. Opening acts for the first two shows will be Brent Cobb and Ashley Monroe, respectively, and tickets go on sale this Friday, November 4 via Ticketmaster starting at 10 a.m. and Ryman.com.
In a statement, LBT’s Jimi Westbrook said, “As musicians, there is no better feeling in the world than playing on the stage at the Ryman. To be given the opportunity to headline their first residency means so much to us as a band and we promise to make each night as memorable for the fans as possible.”
Anyone who purchases a ticket will get a free physical copy of Little Big Town’s brand-new album The Breaker, which will hit stores February 24. The disc’s lead single, “Better Man,” was written by none other than Taylor Swift. The video premieres today.
LBT’s Karen Fairchild said of the album title, “The Breaker is about letting go of things that break you, it’s about the new ground you try and break as a human being and as a musician. Sometimes you’re the one that’s broken and sometimes you’re the breaker.”
She adds, “It’s a sentimental record because we’re feeling super grateful for our friends and family and the chance to share the next chapter.”
