NBCUniversalAfter going head-to-head with Cookie Wednesday night, Dolly Parton officially comes out on top. Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love was number-one for the night, drawing nearly 12 million viewers for NBC, compared to nearly eight million for Fox’s hip-hop drama Empire, according to Variety.
The holiday-themed sequel to last year’s Coat of Many Colors was down about a million-and-a-half viewers compared to its record-setting predecessor, which was the most-watched made-for-TV movie in some time.
