ABC/Image Group LA It looks like Reba is on her way back to TV, but this time, it won’t be a comedy she’s starring in…it’ll be a soap opera.
The Country Music Hall of Famer is set to star in a new series from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, according to Variety. The show, now in development at ABC, is described as a “Southern Gothic “drama set in the small town of Oxblood, Kentucky. The hour-long soap’s plot is set in motion when a suspected act of terrorism disrupts the town’s yearly Fourth of July parade.
Reba’s self-titled hit comedy ran for six seasons on the WB and the CW, followed by Malibu Country, which lasted one season on ABC from 2012/2013. So far, there’s no word on when Reba’s new show might premiere.
