ABC RadioJason Aldean celebrated his most recent chart-topping hits at a triple #1 party Wednesday afternoon at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon.
With nineteen number ones now under his belt, Jason took time to explain the significance of the celebration’s location.
“I remember getting my record deal in this building,” he recalled, “and telling people in this business that I was signing to Broken Bow Records, and everybody going ‘Good luck with that!’… because they were just this little independent label that nobody thought was gonna do anything.”
“And I remember people kinda looking down their nose when I said that…,” he went on, “It almost just kind of gives you some fuel to prove ’em wrong, you know.”
The two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year took the stage to perform his hits with the songwriters who wrote them. Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley assisted on “Lights Come On,” the song that originally was supposed to be a new show opener for FGL.
Jason reminisced about the surreal moment he decided to cut his 18th #1, “A Little More Summertime.”
“I was actually headed to my house down in Florida in my Jeep, and I’m driving through this little beach town…” he explained, “as this song comes on. And it was almost like something out of a movie, you know. My wife was sitting next to me, and she fell in love with the song, and that was pretty much it.”
“Any Ol’ Barstool” subsequently became the Georgia native’s 19th chart-topper. His latest single, “They Don’t Know” seems to be on track to be #20.
