You're lookin' at country: Priceless Loretta Lynn artifacts coming to the Hall of Fame

Country Music Hall of Fame and MuseumLoretta Lynn may be taking the rest of 2017 off to recover from her stroke back in May, but that won’t stop the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum from paying tribute to one of its most esteemed members.

The exhibit Loretta Lynn: Blue Kentucky Girl is set to open on August 25, and will include some truly spectacular artifacts. In addition to the hand-written lyrics for her 1970 hit, “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” you’ll also be able to see the red-and-white polka-dot dress Sissy Spacek wore in the Oscar-winning movie of the same name.

In fact, the dress is the same one Loretta herself made and wore when she was only 14. Appropriately, Loretta’s 1956 Singer sewing machine she used to craft many of her early stage clothes will also be part of the display. You’ll also be able to check out the microphone used to record Lynn’s very first single, “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl.”

Loretta Lynn: Blue Kentucky Girl will run through August 5 of next year.
