Brett's bragging rights: Why Mr. Eldredge is on track for a record-setting week

Atlantic/Warner Music NashvilleBy this time next week, Brett Eldredge may’ve locked in some serious bragging rights.

With his self-titled third studio album set to move around 45,000 album equivalent units in its first week, Brett’s record is on track to debut not only at the top of the Billboard country chart, but to lead the all-genre Billboard 200 as well.

The only thing standing in his way? A potential resurgence by rapper Kendrick Lamar’s double-platinum album DAMN., which has already spent three weeks atop the tally.

We’ll find out how Brett fares when the new Billboard charts come out Sunday. If he’s able score a #1 debut on the all-genre tally, it’ll be his first time atop the Billboard 200, and the first time any country album’s been there in nearly a year.

Two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year Jason Aldean last accomplished that feat on October 1, 2016, when They Don’t Know went all the way to the top.
