Brothers Osborne play the blame game with “It Ain't My Fault”

ABC/Brett OronzioBrothers Osborne’s latest hit, “It Ain’t My Fault,” was born with a guitar lick and a beat on the drums.

“We just had this riff,” TJ Osborne remembers, “and John had this drum groove, and it started happening pretty organically, pretty naturally and pretty quick. We knew we were onto something really fun, and kind of a fresh idea, of just blaming things on one another, which is something we’re all very familiar with,” he says wryly.

Once TJ and John combined their blame-shifting ideology with a clip featuring armed robbers wearing presidential masks, the song seemed to really take off.

“We then kind of elaborated on that with a video having politicians in it, ’cause I think that is the M.O. of any politician that’s ever lived,” TJ says, as John laughs.

“It Ain’t My Fault” is the fourth single from the CMA and ACM Duo of the Year’s debut album, Pawn Shop.
