Chris Young gives $100,000 to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey

RCA NashvilleChris Young is giving $100,000 to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Though the “Losing Sleep” hitmaker grew up on the outskirts of Nashville, he lived in Arlington, Texas before signing his record deal with RCA. He also owns a home, and has family and close friends, in the storm’s path.

“Port Aransas, Rockport, Corpus Christi, Houston and so many other places are going to be dealing with so much damage and loss of life for a long time to come,” Chris says. “I’m worried about the people there — my friends, family and neighbors — and I want to help.

Chris’s sizeable donation kicks off a GoFundMe campaign to raise even more money to help in the storm’s aftermath. You can make a donation at GoFundMe.com/HarveyRelief.

Money raised will go to the Red Cross and other local disaster relief efforts. So far, Chris has raised more than $50,000 in addition to his own contribution.
