Black River EntertainmentIt looks like Kelsea Ballerini is heading back to “High School” this Friday.
“Why would he want to change when every memory bows to him // 9.22,” Kelsea tweeted on Monday, along with a photo of herself posing in front of the bleachers in either a stadium or a gym.
It didn’t take long for Kelsea’s fans to figure out the “Peter Pan” hit maker was quoting the lyrics to her song “High School,” and that she plans to release it on Friday.
Kelsea wrote the track by herself after moving to Nashville, but had never recorded it until her forthcoming album Unapologetically. She’s frequently sung it in concert, however, and has always referred to it as one of her favorites.
“High School” will be the third instant download available from Kelsea’s sophomore album, due November 3. So far, if you pre-order Unapologetically, you can immediately download the first single, “Legends,” as well as the title track.
