ABC/Todd WawrychukNashville residents Dierks Bentley and Sheryl Crow take to the streets of Music City to prove no one can spell their names, in the latest episode of Carpool Karaoke.
Sure enough, not one of the folks Dierks and Sheryl flag down outside the honky tonks on Lower Broadway can correctly spell their first names.
The two fare much better when they decide to find someone with a guitar, recruiting local musician David Oakleaf to come off the sidewalk and have a seat in the back. The three sing Sheryl’s hit, “If It Makes You Happy,” before Dierks invites David to play one of his originals, which gets a positive review from both hitmakers.
“This could be like a new version of American Idol right here,” Dierks jokes.
