ABC/Lou RoccoAs Lauren Alaina approaches the top of the chart with her duet with Kane Brown, “What Ifs,” she’s also releasing the new video for her own single, “Doin’ Fine.”
The Georgia native sports multiple glamorous looks in the clip — including for one memorable, rain-soaked scene — all in the name of communicating the message of the self-penned tune.
“When a really big life-changing event takes place, you feel a flood of emotions,” the talkative American Idol runner-up says. “Some days you cry. Some days you’re angry and some days you’re happy.”
She adds, “It was really important to me to use the three and a half minutes of the video to share all of the emotions I felt while watching my parents go through a divorce, seeing my dad through rehab, and adjusting to a new life in Nashville.”
“Life is full of unpredictability,” Lauren continues, “and so are we. It’s okay to not be okay all of the time, but we have to get to a place where we are ‘Doin’ Fine.’”
Lauren’s current single is the follow-up to her first #1, “Road Less Traveled.” You can check out the video on YouTube now.
