ABC/Mark LevineAfter Maren Morris’ surprise release of the track “Dear Hate” in response to the mass shooting at a country concert in Las Vegas on Sunday night, the song was to be made available to download Friday, with proceeds going to the Music City Cares Fund. But the reaction to the tune was so great, it’s available now.
“Thank you for your outpour[ing] of support for ‘Dear Hate,'” Maren tweeted, “Because of the response, iTunes has put it up early. Vegas, we are with you,” she added, with a heart emoji.
Maren wrote the song three years ago and recorded the duet with Vince Gill just last year. Though she’d pondered when to release it, she decided on Monday it was the right time.
If you want to help, donations to the Music City Cares Fund go to help victims of the Las Vegas shooting.
