Several people were injured, one severely, an incident on I-90 just east of Mitchell, Saturday evening shortly after 8:00 pm. South Dakota Department of Public Safety Spokesman Tony Mangan says the incident involved cattle and vehicles.
Interstate 90’s westbound lanes were closed from Exit 335, Riverside Road, and traffic detoured on Highway 38, while crews cleared the scene at mile marker 333. It was re-opened to traffic around 9:45.
There’s no word on the victim’s conditions, however two helicopters transported some of the injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
