ABC/Image Group LAEver since he lost a close friend to breast cancer early in his career, Jason Aldean has vowed to do all he can to fight the disease…and he’s stayed true to his word.
Friday night, he brought his annual Concert for the Cure to Louisville, Kentucky, donating more than $330,000 to the local chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In addition to giving a portion of every ticket he sells to the cause, the two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year has also been meeting breast cancer survivors every night on the They Don’t Know Tour.
“These women and their families are fighters,” Jason says. “We’ve been having them backstage every night for the last couple years now and I’ve heard their stories first hand. We’re going to keep fighting with them until there’s no more breast cancer.”
Since Jason kicked off his commitment to fight breast cancer in 2004, he’s raised more than $3.6 million for the cause.
