A 57-year-old man died early Saturday in a one-vehicle crash northeast of Mitchell.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family. He was the driver of the vehicle and the only occupant.
A 2003 Dodge Caravan was traveling on 247th Street near the intersection of 414th Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled several times into a crop field.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Hanson County Sheriff’s Office, Davison County Sheriff’s Office and Mitchell Ambulance.
