ABC/Heidi GutmanDolly Parton, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker will salute Glen Campbell and Hunter Hayes will honor Tom Petty and Chuck Berry on Monday night’s The Year in Memoriam 2017 special on ABC.
The hour-long event will pay tribute to the many beloved celebrities who we’ve lost during the past year. Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel came up with idea for the show, which will be hosted by Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts.
“The In Memoriam segments are always the most moving parts of a major awards show,” notes Kimmel. “Robin and I thought it would be fitting to pay longer-form and more personal tribute to these American icons with great stories from their friends, colleagues and peers.”
Among the other stars whose lives and legacy will be saluted during the show are Mary Tyler Moore, Jerry Lewis and Don Rickles. You can catch it tonight at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
A companion special anchored by Roberts titled The Year: 2017, recapping the major events of the past 12 months, will air on ABC on Tuesday, December 19, at 9 p.m. ET.
