ABC/Image Group LAThomas Rhett wrote his latest single, “Marry Me,” as he contemplated what might’ve happened if he’d never made a romantic move toward his lifelong friend, Lauren. But the newly released video for the track imagines a slightly different scenario.
The four-minute mini-movie follows two friends, male and female, through childhood, high school football games and the wedding, where the bride is set to marry someone other than her friend. But then the video adds another layer, ending with a twist.
Most folks know that in real life, TR and Lauren’s love story turned out just fine, as he so eloquently described it in his smash hit, “Die a Happy Man.” This year, the two welcomed daughters Willa and Ada into the family.
