ABC/Image Group LA This New Year’s Eve, you can ring in 2018 with plenty of your favorite country stars — all from the comfort of home.
Sugarland will do their new single, “Still the Same,” live from New York City’s Times Square, while Kane Brown and Florida Georgia Line will join Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest from Hollywood.
“Man, it’s gonna be a party like always,” FGL’s Tyler Hubbard says. “We’re doing one of our favorite songs off our record called ‘Smooth,’ and then we’re doing ‘Meant to Be’ with Bebe Rexha, one of our favorite songs of the year for sure, something we’re super excited and honored to be a part of.”
Tyler goes on: “And then we’re [doing] another huge collaboration… ‘Let Me Go’ with Hailee Steinfeld, Alesso and Andrew Watt. So it’s a night full of awesome songs and the fans are great, so… it’s gonna be a good time.”
It wasn’t that long ago that Tyler and Brian Kelley were right in the middle of the madness in NYC.
“We did the big New Year’s party in New York one year,” he explains. “After that, we really love being at the house for New Year’s Eve… We really love just sitting back watching it on TV, saying ‘Remember when?’ and staying away from the huge crowds.”
Another reason Tyler is loving hanging at home these days? His daughter Olivia Rose, who was born last Saturday.
Still, Brian agrees that’s his idea of a perfect NYE as well: “Man, just hanging with some friends and our dogs and my wife. Yeah, just good people, good friends, man. Good times, yeah.”
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest starts Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
