Mitchell public schools were locked down for a short time Monday morning as a precaution. Superintendent Joe Graves says it happened around 10 am when a third party thought they had seen an on-line threat against Mitchell Senior High. “We of course took that seriously and immediate called Police,”, said Graves. He says all buildings were locked down as a precaution while Police investigated. “They immediately determined that what the person had seen was actually a threat against a school in a different state and nothing to do with Mitchell High School,” Graves said.
He says at that point the lock down was cancelled and classes went on as normal.
Graves says no one was hurt or in any danger.
