Carrie Underwood clearly has Super Bowl plans for “The Champion” — but what are they?

ABC/Image Group LA Does Carrie Underwood have a Super Bowl appearance up her sleeve?

While she seems to have answered the question as to when new music is coming, the American Idol winner is also raising a new one. Late in the day on Monday, Carrie tweeted “#TheChampion coming January 12,” along with a photo that includes the word “INVINCIBLE,” as well as the same hashtag.

On Sunday, a brief snippet of the song debuted during the NFL playoff game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams. Carrie also shared the same clip of the tune on her socials, which features the lyric “I am invincible, unbreakable, unstoppable, unshakeable.”

The interesting thing is Carrie keeps adding the hashtag #SBLII to her posts, which of course stands for Super Bowl LII. The game will air live from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis February 4 on NBC. Given Carrie’s previous NFL plugs for her new song and the fact that she sings the theme for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, it seems logical Carrie’s new song will find its way into this year’s biggest football matchup of them all.

With Justin Timberlake set to do the halftime show and Pink on board to sing the national anthem, the question is: what will Carrie’s involvement be?
