ABC/Image Group LA Chris Young, Lee Brice, Alabama, Travis Tritt and Sara Evans are joining the lineup for Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute to Charlie. Tickets are on sale now for the star-studded show March 7 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels — the driving force behind the annual fundraiser — anchors the show, along with the Charlie Daniels Band.
“This year we get back to basics” he says. “Back to the freeform rocking traditions the Volunteer Jam was known for. I’m planning a jam at the last part of the show that will blow the roof off Bridgestone. And we’ve got the pickers coming this year that can make that happen big time.”
Alison Krauss, Chris Janson and Ricky Skaggs are no doubt some of the pickers Charlie’s referring to, with Justin Moore, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery, ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons, Bobby Bare and the Oak Ridge Boys also set to play. Expect more performers to be announced as the concert draws closer.
The show benefits Charlie’s The Journey Home Project, which helps veterans adjust to civilian life.
