Grammys tribute to victims of concert violence will feature Brothers Osborne, Maren Morris & Eric Church

The Recording AcademyThis Grammy Awards will feature past and present nominees coming together to honor those who lost their lives to gun violence and terrorism at various music events last year.

Brothers Osborne, Maren Morris and Eric Church, all of whom performed at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas in October, will team up for this touching segment.  On October 1, during Jason Aldean’s set at the festival, gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire ot the crowd from his room at the Mandalay Bay hotel.  Nearly 60 people were killed and more than 500 injured.

In May of 2017, 23 were killed in a terrorist bombing outside a concert venue in Manchester, England where pop star Ariana Grande was performing.

In a statement, Recording Academy president Neil Portnow said, “Live music events have always provided a safe space for fans to gather in a shared celebration of music. Sadly, that wasn’t always the case this past year. We believe it’s incredibly important to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in these senseless tragedies and to remind musicians and music lovers alike that live music will continue to be a powerful force that unites us all.”

Brothers Osborne, nominated this year for Best Country Duo/Group performance, are making their Grammy debut this year.  Past winner Maren Morris is nominated for Best Country Solo Performance.  Other stars performing at this year’s Grammys include Little Big Town, Bruno Mars, Elton John, Lady Gaga and Pink.
