ABC/Image Group LA Carrie Underwood’s husband’s retirement from hockey has proven to be a short one. Mike Fisher announced at a press conference Wednesday morning he’ll return to play for the Nashville Predators during the 2018 season.
After 17 seasons in the NHL, Fisher announced he’d come off the ice in August, after Nashville’s hockey team came close to winning the Stanley Cup in 2017. As of now, Fisher’s deal is only for this year, and though he’s already practicing with the team, it’s not known exactly when he’ll take to the ice again.
Carrie herself has a pretty high profile sports gig this weekend. She’s recorded a new opening for Sunday’s Super Bowl, featuring her new song, “The Champion.”
