James MinchinWillie Nelson fans hoping for a chance to catch the country legend live this month will have to wait a little longer. A month after cancelling his January tour dates, Willie has also cleared his calendar for February.
A statement from his longtime publicist reveals that Willie requires “a few extra weeks to recover completely from the flu.” While Willie is reportedly “up and about and looks healthy as ever,” doctors have advised that his voice needs more time to recover. He is set to resume the tour in March.
“I will see you all down the road,” Willie says in a statement.
The news comes nearly a month after Willie walked off the stage during a concert in California unable to perform due to coughing and wheezing. The 84-year-old returned to his ranch in Texas to recover. His tour was set to resume on February 7 at the Macon City Auditorium in Georgia, according to his website.
