Warner Music NashvilleAshley Monroe will release her fourth album, Sparrow, on April 20 — the sultry first single, “Hands on You,” is available now.
Miranda Lambert’s bandmate in Pistol Annies made the record in Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A with producer Dave Cobb, who’s known for his work with Chris Stapleton.
“I knew I wanted to work with Dave,” Ashley says. “All of his records are consistently awesome and classic, timeless, old and new all in one.”
The East Tennessee native wrote and recorded Sparrow while she was expecting her first child, Dalton, who was born last August.
“I felt powerful,” she reveals. “I wasn’t puffing, I wasn’t drinking wine, I was just singing.”
Ashley’s most recent album, 2015’s The Blade, followed her #1 with Blake Shelton on “Lonely Tonight,” and was also nominated for a Grammy.
