Luke Bryan has quite a collection of Entertainer of the Year trophies, with two from the Country Music Association and two from the Academy of Country Music.
On April 15, the American Idol judge will have a chance to pick up another one, when the 53rd ACMs are handed out in Las Vegas. This year, Luke is nominated alongside Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban.
“I always think about winning my first Entertainer of the Year at the ACMs,” Luke says.
“To go to the ACMs knowing that you’re one of those lucky people that have that nomination, it just tells me that I’m doing all I can and doing the right things out on the road and hopefully, the fans are still loving what I’m trying to give to them every night.”
The “Most People Are Good” hitmaker picked up his first ACM for Entertainer in 2012, and admits it’ll be a sad day if the nods ever stop coming.
“You don’t want to say the same clichés about it’s an honor to be nominated, [but] it is! The day that I don’t get nominated for stuff like that, then I’ll kinda be sad and I’ll be motivated to work harder,” Luke laughs.
These days, Luke’s working plenty hard, as he heads to Australia this month for his first shows Down Under. He’ll also step up to the judges’ table, when American Idol premieres Sunday, March 11, on ABC.
