ABC/Image Group LAThe new incarnation of the American Currents exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum doesn’t officially open until Friday. But a group of Nashville insiders got an early look Tuesday night at a red-carpet preview.
Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young, Luke Combs, and Kane Brown all showed up to check out their contributions to the new display. But it’s Brothers Osborne who may be proudest to show off some of their prized possessions.
“It’s awesome to be here. John and I used to work here in the Hall of Fame,” TJ Osborne reveals. “So we would roam the halls here and dream of the day we would ever have the chance of having something in the Hall of Fame or hopefully one day being Hall of Famers. And this has definitely added some more fuel to the fire.”
In their previous lives, both TJ and John waited tables at the Hall: TJ worked in the catering department, while John was in the restaurant.
American Currents: The Music of 2017 features one of TJ’s electric guitars, as well as a beaded suede jacket worn by John.
“Walking in here and actually seeing our hard work and many years of being broke and thinking it was impossible come to fruition, it’s kind of hard to put into words really,” TJ admits. “It almost made me tear up walking in there and seeing our stuff in an exhibit.”
Brothers Osborne’s sophomore record, Port Saint Joe, is set to be released April 20. Its lead single, “Shoot Me Straight,” is currently making its way up the country chart.
