ABC/Image Group LAChris Young turned the Tin Roof in downtown Nashville into the TEN Roof on Tuesday night, as he partied to celebrate his tenth #1, “Losing Sleep.”
Fresh off a run of sold-out shows on the first leg of his Losing Sleep trek, Chris pointed out number-ones are a phenomenon that’s been sweeping his tour roster.
“When we decided that’s what the tour was gonna be,” he explained, “you know, nobody had a #1… And it was like, LANCO, Kane [Brown], and then my song, all in a row, went to one. So it was just really special…”
Kane traveled to the top with Lauren Alaina on “What Ifs,” while LANCO earned their first chart-topper with “Greatest Love Story.”
If you turn out to see the tour when it cranks up again in April, Chris warns you may want to pack your ear plugs.
“[It’s] just incredible…” he says. “I mean, constantly breaking and then re-breaking [decibel] levels in house. Because…my front-of-house guy, he’s always checking that. And it’s just so insanely loud out there right now. And people singing along to everything.”
Prior to his party on Tuesday, Chris walked the red carpet at the opening of the American Currents exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The new display features the Dolce & Gabbanna jacket Chris wore last year as he officially became a member of the Grand Old Opry.
