ABC/Image Group LA At this point in their career, it’s not uncommon for Rascal Flatts to be picking up awards. But now they’ve reached the place where they’re being honored for their charity work, as well as for their music.
Thursday night in Nashville, Vanderbilt’s Cumberland Pediatric Foundation presented Jay DeMarcus, Gary LeVox, and Joe Don Rooney with the 2018 Excellence in Children’s Health Award. Rascal Flatts has raised so much money for Nashville’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital that the Pediatric Surgery Center is named for them.
The band’s philanthropy also includes work with Make-A-Wish, Little Kids Rock, and Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine program.
On the musical front, the guys’ summer tour takes its name from their tenth studio album, Back to Us. The trek kicks off in June, with Dan + Shay and Carly Pearce also joining the run.
