They’re good dogs, Brantley: Singer gifting companion dogs to veterans during tour

The Valory Music Co.Every weekend of his tour this spring, Brantley Gilbert will be matching up a deserving veteran with a new companion dog.

“Nothing helps heal like an animal’s love,” says the singer. “These dogs aren’t just good dogs, they’re trained to help their veteran, and new companion, cope with stress — memories and triggers people can’t see — and provide them with a sense of solid grounding.”

Brantley started the program earlier this year, with a whole lot of help. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals finds the dogs, while Custom Canine Unlimited trains and transports them. Disabled American Veterans identifies the service members, while Pedigree will be giving each one a year’s supply of dog food.

In all, Brantley plans to place eight companion dogs during his The Ones That Like Me Tour. This week, the trek’s namesake single enters country’s top fifteen.
