Allister AnnThe new single from Kenny Chesney is on its way. “Get Along” will arrive on Friday, urging Americans to come together in divisive times.
“Some days, it’s like the world is just angry, screaming people, all harping on what’s wrong, how other people are awful,” Kenny says. “The more I move around, talking to people, though, the more I know people are SEEKING THE SAME THINGS, working hard to get by and HOPING FOR the best for their family and friends. It’s simple, but we keep getting driven apart — and made unhappy.”
Kenny hopes his new music can help change that.
“When I heard this song, beyond how good the rhythm felt, I was amazed how simply they broke all this stuff down,” he continues. “Get along… find the common ground… know the basic stuff is where the joy, the love, the happiness is.”
“Get Along” is Kenny’s first single since leaving his longtime label home at Sony for Warner Brothers. The eight-time Entertainer of the Year is set to sing at the 53rd ACM Awards, which take place April 15 in Las Vegas.
He’s currently climbing the chart with his top-15 collaboration with David Lee Murphy, “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” which he also co-produced.
