ABC/Image Group LA Tammy Wynette hit #1 back in 1973 with the humorous tune “Kids Say the Darndest Things” — and now Thomas Rhett and his daughter Willa Gray are proving it’s still true.
TR kicks off his Life Changes Tour Thursday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Brett Young and newcomer Jillian Jacqueline joining him. To amp up excitement for this weekend’s shows, Thomas Rhett posted an adorable video with Willa sitting in his lap.
In the clip, the two-year-old dutifully repeats what her daddy tells her to, from “What’s up, Tulsa?” to difficult names like “Las Cruces.” She balks and shakes her head, however, when Thomas suggests “Y’all come to the show, ‘cause it’s gonna be fun!”
“Can’t wait to see y’all this weekend!” he tweeted. “Even though according to Willa it won’t be any fun,” adding the laugh-until-you-cry emoji.
TR and wife Lauren adopted Willa from a Ugandan orphanage last year, prior to the birth of their biological first child, daughter Ada James.
