ABC/Randy HolmesHow hot is Ashley McBryde these days? Well, for starters, she’s sandwiched right between Luke Bryan and Chris Stapleton on Billboard’s Hot Country Albums chart this week.
In fact, Ashley’s debut album for Warner Nashville, Girl Going Nowhere, is the biggest debut from a solo country artist so far this year, according to her label.
Girl makes its initial appearance at #7 this week, right between Luke’s What Makes You Country and the first volume of Stapleton’s From A Room recordings.
“It feels incredible to have this album out in the world,” Ashley says. “It may not seem like it, but I’ve always been a shy person, so to hear stories of how other folks relate to these stories, these lyrics and our songs reaffirms this unconventional path we took creating and releasing it.”
Ashley’s debut single, “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega,” is hovering near country’s top 30. Her major label debut — from heavyweight producer Jay Joyce — was already finished before she landed at Warner.
