Dierks Bentley climbing “The Mountain” with help from Brothers O, Brandi Carlile

Capitol Records NashvilleDierks Bentley has released the track listing for his new album, The Mountain, and it reveals that he got some help from some special guests.

Brothers Osborne guest on the album’s first track, “Burning Man,” while acclaimed singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile appears on the song “Travelin’ Light.”

In addition, famed bluegrass musicians Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas and Tim O’Brien play on the record.  That’s fitting, since Telluride, Colorado, where Dierks wrote and recorded the album, hosts a famous bluegrass festival, at which Dierks has performed and that he attended as a fan.

Dierks co-wrote 10 of the 13 tracks on The Mountain.  He says of the material, “For me it’s the best of both worlds, and it feels like something new. It’s powerful but also happy, with acoustic sensibility mixed in with the big sounds I like to have for the road.”

He adds, “They are the songs I’d play for somebody to say, ‘This is who I am right now.’”

The Mountain is due June 8.  Dierks launches his 2018 Mountain High Tour May 18 in Columbia, MD.
