Big MachineAbout five years ago, Taylor Swift and Pat Monahan, the lead singer of rock band Train, co-wrote a song called “Babe,” which was never released. This past fall, Taylor offered the song to Sugarland, for their comeback album Bigger. They recorded it with Taylor joining them on the track, and it’s now on its way to becoming a big country hit. So of course, Taylor wanted to show her gratitude to Pat for his part in the song.
On Instagram, Pat posted a photo of a beautiful bouquet of flowers Taylor sent him, along with a note reading, “Pat, I’m so excited about our song! Sending you and your family the biggest hug and I hope to see you soon! Taylor.”
In the caption, Pat wrote, “Some of you already know that @sugarland has a new single out called #babe that sounds awesome. I was lucky enough to have written it with @taylorswift and I want to thank Taylor for being so kind, sweet and talented and letting me be a part of her huge life. And thank you for these [flowers]. My kids think I’m pretty cool.”
Taylor’s Reputation stadium tour kicks off May 8 in Glendale, AZ. Sugarland starts their Still the Same trek just a few days earlier, with a sold-out show May 4 in Durant, Oklahoma.
