ABC/Image Group LACarrie Underwood sang the national anthem for the Nashville Predators on Sunday, before her husband Mike Fisher helped lead Music City’s hockey team to victory over the Winnipeg Jets in double overtime.
Thanks to a new Instagram video Carrie posted, we now know the person most excited to see the American Idol winner sing “The Star Spangled Banner” may very well have been the couple’s son, Isaiah.
“As a child, I wanted nothing more than to make my parents proud of me…” Carrie explained, “and now, as a mother, I want to make my child proud… He never really gets to see me sing because he’s in bed before I go on stage, but [Sunday] night he was there to watch his daddy play…and he also got see his mommy sing for a minute.”
The short video shows the three-year-old clapping excitedly and cheering as his mom finishes the song.
“Thanks, @iveychilders for catching this little moment…my heart is happy…” Carrie added.
Ivey Childers, by the way, is Carrie’s friend who owns Ivey Cakes, and usually supplies Isaiah’s birthday cakes.
